Aiming to build a learning-oriented platform and promote theory application into practice, the Master of Finance Program (MF) of Shanghai Advanced Institute of Finance (SAIF) at Shanghai Jiao Tong University held the 2024 International Youth Leadership Finance Summit on the weekend.

Circling around the keywords of "experience, learning, fun and challenge", the summit included three workshops - primary markets, secondary markets, and quantitative finance, providing students interested in various specialized fields of finance with diverse directional choices.

Also, renowned professors from SAIF provided students from around the world with professional knowledge in mergers and acquisitions, global equity investment, and quantitative investment.

The 2024 IYLFS received enthusiastic responses upon its launch, attracting students from globally renowned universities. Among the 200 participants, more than 20 percent of them were international students.

During the opening ceremony, SAIF MF academic director, professor David X. Li, said that the summit provided students from renowned universities worldwide with the opportunity to engage in equal dialogue with academic professors and industry experts.

"This year's summit breaks down the traditional barriers of a 'finance-only' focus, creating a unique interdisciplinary learning environment for students from diverse academic backgrounds," he said.

Following the workshops, students in each group carried out intensive and productive research and discussions complying with the competition rules of their respective tracks.

After intense competition and rigorous selection, 17 teams were awarded the first, second, and third prizes, and 15 students received the Outstanding Individual Award.

Professors from the institute encouraged the youths to see this summit as a new starting point to delve deeply into financial issues, and contribute to social development with a sense of professionalism and responsibility.
