Wuxi in East China's Jiangsu province recently made the 2024 lists of the top Chinese cities in terms of talent attraction and job promotion, according to the Best Employer Award 2024 held in Wuxi on Dec 14.
The award was launched by Zhilian Recruitment, a major recruitment platform in China, and Peking University's Center for Social Research 20 years ago.
"Wuxi is one of the most active cities in the Yangtze River Delta in terms of talent attraction, having attracted over 460,000 high-quality talents from home and abroad in the past five years, which is very impressive," said Zhang Yuejia, president of Zhilian Recruitment.
Zhang added that in its new wave of talent attraction efforts, Wuxi has set the ambitious goal of becoming a "talent-importing" city and is frequently launching major initiatives to achieve this goal.
Through a series of university visits and various music, food, and sports-related activities, Wuxi has managed to capture the hearts of young people. The city has also engaged in talent and investment attraction in countries and regions such as the United Kingdom and France, establishing 16 overseas talent attraction workstations and organizing recruitment-related activities.
Additionally, Wuxi has continuously iterated and upgraded its recruitment policies, with services covering settlement subsidies, transportation, cultural and tourism benefits, and accommodation, greatly alleviating the burden on job seekers.
As of the end of October this year, Wuxi's total talent pool amounted to 2.26 million people, including 264,000 high-level talents, 26,600 returnees, and 584,300 highly-skilled talents.
