A documentary with an authentic touch
The documentary A Golden Age as Wished premiered at the No 2030 production site of Tangsteel Company, Hesteel Group in Tangshan, Hebei province, on Dec 16, where it was watched by around 200 steelworkers.
Produced by the China Central Newsreel and Documentary Film Studio (Group) in collaboration with the Tangshan I & H Group, and Silkroad Visual Technology Co Ltd, it portrays the collective image of the people through the real-life stories of six young people in different sectors.
Using historical and contemporary footage, the documentary also journeys through China's 75-year development, particularly its rapid transformations in recent years.
In addition to a nationwide cinema release on Dec 23, the documentary is launching a screening tour to factories, villages, communities and schools, which starts in Tangshan, the cradle of the country's modern industry.
Qiu Dongfang, general manager of the China Central Newsreel and Documentary Film Studio (Group), emphasized that as the national chronicler of visual history, the studio remains committed to its mission of documenting national progress through documentary filmmaking centered on people.
