Southwest China's Guizhou province will feature as the guest of honor at the second Art Hong Kong, which will take place from Dec 19 to 22 in Hong Kong. Known for its rich cultural heritage and natural beauty, Guizhou has captivated attention far and wide.
A hidden natural paradise nestled in the mountains, the province has been recognized by Lonely Planet as one of the "top travel destinations in the world" and praised by National Geographic as "one of the world's most enticing destinations." This enchanting region has drawn countless tourists from the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, eager to explore its wonders.
Improved transportation has allowed Guizhou and Hong Kong to overcome geographical barriers and closely collaborate. In 1992, Guiyang Longdongbao International Airport launched its first charter flight to Hong Kong. By 2012, direct flights between the two regions had been established.
In 2019, high-speed railways from Guiyang and Zunyi to Hong Kong made travel between these regions even more convenient.
Guizhou is currently focusing on resources, visitors, and services to develop itself into a world-class tourist destination. In January of this year, the Guiyang-Hong Kong-Macao Tourism Alliance was established in Guiyang, creating an important platform for culture and tourism exchanges and cooperation between the two regions.
Hong Kong is also a crucial trade partner for Guizhou. Since 2011, the "Guizhou-Hong Kong Investment and Trade Week" has held eight sessions of exchange activities, continually strengthening the foundation for economic and trade cooperation.
