With the development of the digital economy, data analysis has become increasingly important in many industries, thereby making the cultivation of data analysis talents more important, according to the 2024 China data analysis industry development report, unveiled at a forum recently hosted by China Data Analysis Committee and China Machine Press in Beijing.

According to the report, with the deep integration and innovation of cutting-edge technologies such as big data, artificial intelligence and cloud computing, data analysis is gradually penetrating many fields such as finance, healthcare, education and manufacturing, showing a huge development potential. The application of data analysis in various industries advances at an unprecedented speed, becoming a key force in promoting industrial transformation and upgrading.

"Due to the importance of data analysis in various industries, there is an increased demand for data talents who not only need to have data analysis skills but also need to understand the background of the relevant industry. Then they can collect, summarize and analyze the data to make valuable and feasible suggestions," said Wan Bin, the head of a consulting firm in Beijing.

With the widespread application of emerging technologies, there is a growing demand for digital talent in enterprises, especially in the information transmission, software and information technology services sector, according to the China data analysis industry talent index report, which was also released at the forum. Data has changed the traditional methods of production and accelerated the transformation of traditional industries, it said.

Looking ahead, the talent index report suggested that enterprises should build sustainable talent development paths with complete training systems, while training institutions need to closely follow industry trends and upgrade their curricula by cooperating with enterprises.

Universities and colleges are advised to promote education reforms so as to strengthen ties among the academic and industrial communities to cultivate high-end talent that can meet future demands from industries. Cultivating talent via in-depth cooperation and coordination among all parties involved will become an important driving force for the high-quality development of industries, it said.
