On Jan 1, more than 200 tourists embarked on the cruise ships in Wuxi, Jiangsu province, marking the trial operations of new sightseeing ship routes in the city with one bound for Suzhou.

Along the cruise ship routes, passengers are expected to immerse themselves in the beautiful scenery of Taihu Lake up close, catching glimpses of red-billed gulls at Yuantouzhu scenic area in Wuxi, exploring the ancient village of Mingyue Bay on Xishan Island in Suzhou, and hiking to the summit of Shigong Mountain to take in its stunning views. They are also poised to savor the distinct flavors of Taihu Lake cuisine at a local farmhouse.

People interested in the sightseeing routes can purchase the ticket via the official Douyin account of the Yuantouzhu scenic area or the travel platform Ctrip.
Consumption coupons for sightseeing routes worth 1 million yuan ($137,000) were issued at the launch ceremony to attract more tourists. In addition, 10,000 one-ticket passes for scenic spots in Wuxi were distributed to Suzhou and Changzhou citizens.
