Hebei online media tour opens in Tangshan

The 5th Hebei online media tour kicked off on June 25 in Tangshan, Hebei Province. The tour, to be held from June 25-29, attracted representatives from more than 20 online media outlets. Reporters will visit Tangshan and Qinhuangdao during the tour, two important cities in Hebei Province.

Tangshan Mayor Zhang Guodong summarized Tangshan’s advantages on the Tangshan introduction meeting of the tour. Tangshan is a coastal city with a history of over one hundred years based on heavy industry.

Tangshan has five advantages, including resources, location, industry, port and environment, said Zhang. Tangshan is in the key period for future development and opportunities coexist with pressures, he added.

Hebei, surrounding the capital city Beijing and the important commercial city Tianjin, enjoys a very important geographic position. The economy of Hebei witnessed a fast and steady growth and its general economic power became stronger and stronger. In 2005 the total output value of Hebei amounted to 1.01 trillion yuan, up 13.4 percent year-on-year.
