Daniel Radcliffe says celebrities who use social media lose their right to privacy.

The 24-year-old actor - who does not have his own official Twitter or Facebook page - thinks stars should avoid sharing personal details about themselves on social networks if they seek a private life.

Speaking to Sky News, Daniel said: "I don't have Twitter and I don't have Facebook and I think that makes things a lot easier.

"If you go on Twitter and tell everybody what you're doing moment to moment and then claim you want a private life, then no one is going to take that request seriously."

Daniel also thinks stars should avoid attending events where they aren't required if they don't want to attract attention.

He added: "There's certain things you can do to make it a lot easier on yourself. If you don't, for instance, go to premieres that aren't for a film you're in, or don't just turn up at other events, then that's going to help to not fuel the interest."

Daniel - who was catapulted to the spotlight as Harry Potter in the film franchise about the boy wizard - admits he used to get "frustrated" by public interest in him when he was younger, however, in hindsight he thinks it is "petulant" to complain about stardom.

The 'A Young Doctor's Notebook' star added: "When I was 18 or 19 there was definitely a level of frustration around. I did have to think where I went and you do get a little frustrated, but ultimately it's childish, petulant."
