LONDON -- British renewable energy firm ?SeaEnergy PLC announced Wednesday it signed an agreement with ?Chinese shipbuilder COSCO to develop and market steel structures ?for the offshore wind industry. ? ?
The cooperative agreement was expected to lead to a definitive ?contract to develop and market turbine jacket substructures, ?towers and access systems for offshore wind farms. ? ?
"The two companies will now work together over the coming ?months to develop a detailed business plan and commercial ?framework which will form the basis of their ongoing relationship." said the announcement released by SeaEnergy PLC. ? ?
SeaEnergy CEO Joel Staadecker said he was delighted to work ?with one of China's premier state-owned enterprises and direct ?efforts at the critical supply chain needed for offshore ?structures. ? ?
The cooperation agreement marks the first significant agreement in offshore wind between a Scottish company and a major ?state-owned Chinese enterprise.
