The "Second-hand shopping to save the earth" campaign by ershou.taobao.com
China's most popular online shopping site Taobao launched a campaign to inspire online shoppers to trade in second-hand goods on World Earth Day, April 22, 2012.
A staff member of ershou.taobao.com, a second-hand trading platform of Taobao, said that research shows 5.7 kilograms of carbon dioxide emissions are reduced by purchasing an old shirt instead of a new one.
Statistic from ershou.taobao.com shows that more than 600,000 second-hands goods are recycled every month.

Chinese search engine Baidu.com launched a campaign to increase public awareness of environmental protection. Internet users may be surprised by the special effects symbolizing the crack in the land if they search "Save the Earth." Users are also encouraged to express their wishes for World Earth Day. The image shows the "Save the Earth" campaign by Baidu.com.

 Wangpeng: World Earth Day is like a sign and we should be aware of protecting the earth every day.

 Duanxianfengzheng: I don't buy the 2012 prophesy but if human beings continue to destroy the planet, the doom will come sooner or later.

Caoguoqiang: Live in a healthy way: low carbon, saving water and energy and stop unnecessary wasting.
