WASHINGTON - Chinese Vice Premier Wang Qishan wrapped up his three-day visit to the United States on Thursday.

Wang arrived here Tuesday to co-chair the 23rd Session of China-US Joint Commission on Commerce and Trade (JCCT) with acting US Commerce Secretary Rebecca Blank and US Trade Representative Ron Kirk.

During the annual high-level trade talks from Tuesday to Wednesday, both the Chinese and US sides agreed to inject new vitality into bilateral trade and economic relations.

The two sides have reached consensus on further promoting bilateral trade and business ties. They signed two documents - memorandum of understanding in support of China-US trade cooperation and the second phase report on the statistical discrepancy of merchandise trade.

They agreed that strengthening China-US economic and trade cooperation is conducive not only to the economic growth and job creation in both countries, but also to the robust, sustainable and balanced economic growth of the world.

It was also agreed that both sides will take full advantage of the platform of the JCCT to resolve differences and enhance cooperation, so as to continue to push their economic and trade ties.

On Thursday, Wang met with US President Barack Obama and other senior US officials, including Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner and National Security Advisor Tom Donilon, to discuss issues related to relations between the two countries.
