A construction worker saved his daughter from being raped after being struck by a strong sense of anxiety and returned to his dormitory. The man, in Taiyuan, Shanxi province, claims he returned just as his 13-year-old daughter was about to be raped by?a man on Aug 9.

Journalist Chen Baocheng's forced demolition story and detention dominates Chinese media. Chen and six of his fellow villagers in Pingdu, Shandong province, have been detained after allegedly keeping a construction worker captive for 25 hours. Chen and the villagers had been in a long dispute over land expropriation issues with local government stretching back several years.

Wuhan International Trade University has added a few copycat buildings from around the world, such as the Pyramids and the Arc de Triomphe. The university said it's a way to be geared to international standards, Changjiang Daily reported.
