Shanghai metro freeloaders face blacklist
Ticket dodgers at Shanghai metro stations will find their next stop on a credit blacklist, the authorities said.
The operation and management authority of Shanghai metro, together with the police, will post officers at eight metro stations randomly during morning and evening rush hours daily through Sept 10.
On Aug 12, 88 passengers who did not pay for metro tickets were captured and the information of more than 160 passengers has been recorded in the credit blacklist, according to police.
About 7 million journeys are made in Shanghai metros per day, and 10,000 passengers steal a ride on a daily basis, data from Shanghai transport and port authority showed.
