BEIJING - Top Chinese legislator Zhang Dejiang on Wednesday met with Bamanga Tukur, chairman of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) of Nigeria, in Beijing.
Zhang, chairman of the National People's Congress Standing Committee, reviewed his meeting with Tukur during his visit to Nigeria in September, saying the two countries have a profound brotherhood.
Zhang briefed Tukur on the Communist Party of China's (CPC) decision on deepening reforms approved by the third Plenary Session of the 18th CPC Central Committee earlier in November.
As the CPC and the PDP are ruling parties and shoulder the task of national development, it is important for them to learn from each other and share experience on state governance, Zhang said.
He called for the two sides to increase friendly exchanges, enhance political trust, increase cooperation and seek the continued growth of bilateral relations.
Tukur said the visit has deepened understanding and cooperation between the PDP and the CPC, helped him learn from the CPC's wisdom and enriched the PDP's ruling ideals.
