CHANGSHA -- An accidental explosion ripped through an arsenal in Central China's Hunan province and killed 17 soldiers while they were stacking ammunition.
The blast took place at 4:45 pm on Tuesday afternoon in Hengyang city and its cause was under investigation.
A Hengyang city policewoman surnamed Xiao confirmed the accident on Wednesday and said no civilians were injured. The armory is in a rural township on the outskirts of Hengyang.?
