A former railway official in the Inner Mongolia autonomous region has been sentenced to death with a two-year reprieve after being found guilty of accepting bribes.

Lin Fenqiang, a former director of the Hohhot Railways Bureau, was found guilty of accepting bribes, including yuan, dollars, euros, gold and expensive watches, to a value of 70 million yuan ($11.23 million), China Business News reported on Wednesday.

The prosecutors found that Lin accepted the bribes through family members, and from a businessman who placed 400,000 euros ($541,810) in cigarette packs and sent them to Lin.

Lin accepted the sentence and will not appeal, the report said.

Lin was also involved with the corruption case of Liu Zhijun, a former minister of railways, the report said. Liu was sentenced to death with a two-year reprieve in July on charges of accepting bribes and abusing his power.
