People-to-people exchange facilitates building of digital silk road

More universities in the world should contribute to build the digital silk road, Zhu Shanlu, party secretary of Peking University said at the sub forum themed "Building a Digital Silk Road for Win-Win Cooperation - Integrate Resources and Develop Innovative Models" in Wuzhen on Wednesday.

"The building of the digital silk road should start from the ideas of the people," said Zhu, "young people, as an innovative force, should be the participants today."

Zhu urges more students, professors and principals in the universities to get involved in the digital silk road, and referred to people-to-people exchanges as a good way forward.

The Second World Internet Conference, the most high-profile Internet related event in China, is taking place in the picturesque water town of Wuzhen, Zhejiang province, Dec 16 to 18.

The conference, with a goal of "building a cyberspace community of shared destiny", has gathered together more than 2,000 participants, including state leaders, government officials, business leaders, Internet titans, and experts from more than 120 countries and regions.
