Fly-in air show to be held in Guizhou in July
The Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA)?of China announced today in Beijing that it will hold the Sixth AOPA-China Fly-In air show in Huangping county, Southwest China's Guizhou province, next month.
This year's event, from July 21 to 25, will feature several renowned international aerobatic teams, including the Breitling Jet Team Sunward Aerobatic Team, that will perform aerial stunts, according to the association, a nonprofit organization under the Civil Aviation Administration of China.
This will be the second time that Huangping has held the event. The Fifth AOPA-China Fly-In took place in Huangping in September 2016. The county government wants to take advantage of the show to boost its tourism and to promote aviation knowledge among local students, Fan Aihong, a publicity official from the county, was quoted as saying in a news release from the AOPA-China.
Thanks to the event last year, the number of tourists to Huangping and the county's tourism revenue were doubled compared with 2015, Fan said, adding the county government also will use this coming show to display its aviation history in the War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression.
