By Wang Hongyi in Shanghai | China Daily | Updated: 2014-01-08 07:09

Experts are calling for early detection of breast cancer in China, which has seen a rising number of patients.

"When talking about cancer, many people feel terror and fear. But about one third of cancer can be detected in the early stages and also be cured with immediate efforts," says Pan Changqing, vice-president of Shanghai No 1 People's Hospital.

"Early detection, early diagnosis and early treatment are the key for improving the survival rate," Pan says during a free screening activity in Shanghai.
