Chongli gears up for Olympic Winter bid

Skiing in Chongli county, in Zhangjiakou city, started in 1996 and today there are four ski resorts in the county: Wanlong, Genting, Dolomiti and Changchengling.

The county built 82 ski slopes covering 69 kilometers and 24 cable lifts covering 23 km, with capacity for 40,000 people per hour. By 2020, Chongli hopes to have 228 ski slopes of 500 km and 84 cable lifts of 99 km.

The ski resorts are undergoing renovations and improvements to ensure they meet the requirements for the Olympic Winter Games. Chongli has hosted more than 10 well-known international ski competitions since 2005.
