China Daily | Updated: 2016-05-11 08:22

The Forum on Tax Administration, which was created in 2002, is a unique forum for cooperation between commissioners from 46 OECD and non-OECD members.

The forum aims to create a platform that allows commissioners to identify, discuss and influence relevant global tax trends and develop new ideas to enhance tax administration around the world.

Agenda

The 10th FTA plenary, which will be held in Beijing from May 11-13, will consist of the following sessions:

BEPS implementation

Linking to the G20 tax priorities, this session will consider the challenges and opportunities of BEPS (Base Erosion and Profit Shifting) implementation for tax administrations, and the impact this has on FTA members' approach to multi-national enterprise tax compliance.

International tax cooperation and exchange of information

Recognizing both the impact of recent tax policy developments, such as the Common Reporting Standard and the realities of increasing globalization, this session will consider the growing need for tax administrations to share information and work together to address such issues as cross-border tax avoidance and evasion.

Building tax administrations and the FTA of the future

With a particular focus on the role of technology and how it can be used to reduce costs, improve customers' experience and encourage compliance, this session will showcase recent innovations in approaches to tax administration by FTA members. The session will also discuss future work programs.

Capacity building

This session will examine how tax administrators can deal more efficiently and effectively with increasing demands for assistance. It will also discuss ways in which tax administrations can work together more effectively and better utilize their resources. The session will also discuss ways of promoting greater coordination between international tax administrations.
