A major three-day international training program, a workshop on practices to safeguard intangible cultural heritage, wrapped up in Quanzhou, Fujian province, on Wednesday.

The event was co-organized by Beijing-based International Training Center for Intangible Cultural Heritage in the Asia-Pacific Region and the Seoul-based International Information and Networking Center for Intangible Cultural Heritage in the Asia-Pacific Region, both under the auspices of UNESCO.

Workshop leaders shared successful practices for preserving and international transmission of culture, highlighted by a performance of the renowned string puppet in Quanzhou, which has been presented in more than 60 countries.

Seven more cases, from countries including the Republic of Korea, Thailand and Indonesia, were also shown at the seminar in an exchange of experiences.

Since Beijing's training center opened in 2012, 10 ICH workshops have been organized, which trained more than 300 professionals from 21 countries and regions in relevant fields.
