    Education programme

2006-03-18 07:22

WWF China's Education Programme has been working in Shangri-La since 1998, when they supported two Baimaxueshan Nature Reserve employees to go on training courses.

It has now grown into a nationwide project encompassing more than 20 local community projects like that at Bazhu. It has also developed partnerships with education institutions, both nationwide and abroad.

The logging ban in China has been in place since 1998, following disastrous floods on the Yangtze River. The Chinese Government is currently reviewing a plan to phase out the ban after 2008.
