The world's top fashion house Dior staged its inaugural runway show in China on April 25 at the Museum of the Central Academy of Fine Arts in Beijing, a first outside the company's headquarters in Paris.

The show presented its ready-to-wear collection for the 2013/2014 autumn and winter in a reprisal of its recent show in Paris.

Kris Van Assche, creative director for the Dior Homme brand, attended the event to unveil the latest trends the brand is bringing to its Chinese clientele.

Some 500 invited guests attended the showcase presented by some 40 international models who fully demonstrated the sporty energy and premium texture of Dior Homme, in what was described by the company as a "time machine experience".

The curved catwalk brought out an extraordinary visual experience, illustrating the label's relentless pursuit of top quality, said Van Assche.

The show turned out to be a star-studded event.

Famed actors and singers from the Chinese mainland such as Huang Xiaoming, Deng Chao, Tong Dawei, Han Geng, Stanley Huang and Li Dongxue, as well as Taiwan actor Jik-Wai Fan, all appeared in Dior Homme outfits.

Renowned actresses Jing Tian, Qi Xi, Xiong Naijin, Zhang Xinyi and Guan Yue clad in Dior dresses proved a special sight.

The event also had a number of other celebrities from Shanghai and Beijing in attendance including Wan Yingnu, Ye Mingzi, Tiffany Zhang, Xie Dongna, Ma Yanli, Meng Guangmei, Wang Xiaofei, Cao Difei, Alan Zhao and Tony Li, as well as Hong Kong counterparts such as lyricist Wyman Wong and film director Alexi Tan.

The after-show celebration culminated in a performance by the English synth-pop duo Hurts invited by Van Assche.

The company said duo's avant-garde music style and on-trend appearance are fully in keeping with the essence of Dior Homme.
