Every Wednesday in May, The Hatchery will be screening an episode of the critically acclaimed television series Chef's Table, by David Gelb, the filmmaker behind Jiro Dreams of Sushi. Starting at 8:30 pm, a favorite episode will be shown on the big screen with surround sound. Yunnan food festival

A flower-based banquet theme shapes this year's Yunnan Food Festival at the Minzu Hotel through May 20. A chef from the province will use seasonal ingredients including fresh flowers and plants from Yunnan, such as camellia, jasmine, azalea and bamboo. Yunnan has a long history of cooking with flowers, which can be made into desserts and soup, or be pan-fried and mixed with other ingredients. Classic traditional dishes available at lunch and dinner include steamed pot chicken, morel with wrinkled pepper, and wild broccoli with garlic.
