China's first set of home-developed driverless subway trains are expected to be put into operation in Beijing next year, Changchun Railway Vehicles announced. The 60 trains will be the first fully automatic trains on the Chinese mainland to allow for unmanned operation.
They will be delivered in May. The trains, with a top speed of 80 kilometers an hour, will be able to carry a maximum of 1,262 passengers.
