The exhibition, Art of Caibai Collection and Shi Bingmou Jade Themed Paintings, held at the Beijing World Art Museum, offers Beijing residents a rare insight into Chinese jade culture.
The Caibai Shopping Mall will put on display its collection of jade sculptures. These will be complemented by the creations of Shi Bingmou, Chinese jade sculpture artist.
Appearing even before the Qin Dynasty (221-206 BC), jade sculpture is a traditional art, but this exhibition has modern works.
For example, in We've Got Breads, bloodstones, jadeite and wood are combined to make three cookies, a big piece of bread, and two golden bunnies. Even though it looks more like a marvelous modern painting, each of the stones there is priceless.
