Xiaomi Library donates 12,000 books to Lhasa schools

Xiaomi Library, a charity library run by Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi, recently donated over 12,000 books to students in Lhasa, the capital of Tibet autonomous region, local media reported on Oct 8.

Local government officials, education professionals and student representatives joined the donation ceremony.

Chen Quhui, deputy head of the Lhasa city education bureau, thanked Xiaomi Library for its commitment to charity and contribution to education.

He encouraged Lhasa students to cherish these donations and give back to society in the future.

This year, Xiaomi Library added some new items to its donation list. In the reading room of Maxiang Central Primary School, students now have access to ten of the latest Xiaomi products, including laptops and projectors.

These multi-media teaching devices will enable students to enjoy the fun of technology and give them a broader access to domestic and global trends.

Xiaomi Library is a joint venture between Xiaomi Corp and its subsidiary Duokan (read more) Technology set up to support compulsory education in developing areas.
