Fujian province saw increased traffic for the first 10 days of the Spring Festival travel rush, or chunyun, according to authorities.

The province’s road and water traffic management authorities handled 19.8 million passengers between Feb 4 and 13, of whom 19 million travelled by road.

Cross-Straits traffic went smoothly, carrying about 48,000 passengers via 476 voyages.

Traffic flow in Fujian is expected to grow and travelers are advised to make plans and book tickets well in advance.
