The first five were finished while the latter three are still under construction.

The investment in port and waterway construction reached 51 billion yuan, adding 73 new berths and a string of ferry terminals. Airport construction was also accelerated with funding of over 10 billion yuan, renovating Xiamen Gaoqi, Fuzhou Changle, Quanzhou Jinjiang and Mountain Wuyi airports and building Sanming Shaxian Airport. The total air passenger flow of Fujian province topped 36.95 million during the five year period.

Another 25 billion yuan was allocated to the urban rail transit system with Fuzhou and Xiamen metro projects placed under construction. In addition, as cross-Straits postal cooperation was further enhanced Pingtan was approved to build an international post exchange station. Fujian's postal revenue exceeded 50 billion yuan in the five years, three times the amount of the 11th Five-Year Plan period.
