Pingnan's court grants left-behind children's wishes

Young staff of Pingnan People's Court visited Gufeng Second Elementary School recently to help 46 left-behind children realize their small wishes. These pupils' parents have moved to urban areas in search of jobs as migrant workers.

Among the wishes, there was one to read a favorite book, carry a new schoolbag, have a doll and even receive care, all of which were granted with the staff's help.

In China, one child out of every four children lives away from biological parents owing to internal migrations that are often driven by economic reasons, according to the All China Women Federation, a government agency.

All children need love and care from their families, and this is what left-behind children lack most. They also need guidance in their life and study. Accordingly, these children need more attention to maintain the society's harmony and stability.
