Marine industry

Pingtan makes use of its advantages in traditional industries and resources to introduce advanced technologies and concepts from Taiwan to develop quality agriculture, deep processing of aquatic products, marine biology technology, and other modern marine industries. It aims to build an economic demonstration base off the coast of Fujian province, South China.

Quality agriculture

Pingtan encourages Taiwan farmers, especially those from south central Taiwan, to invest in Pingtan's agriculture, sightseeing agriculture, and marine fishery. It also plans to build daffodil nurseries and fishery technology exchange parks to promote the establishment of a quality agricultural cooperation base.

Marine products processing

Pingtan will introduce advanced processing and preservation technologies from Taiwan to strengthen cooperative research and development in the deep marine products processing industry. It also plans to build a distribution center that provides Taiwan marine products for the mainland market.

Marine biology

Pingtan will strengthen research and development of marine biology technology, develop extraction on marine life, marine biology medicine, comprehensive utilization of marine resources, and other burgeoning industries.
