A public forum promoting traditional Chinese virtues was held by a local Buddhism association in the Pingtan county, East China's Fujian province, from Nov 22 to 24.

Scholars delivered speeches on traditional cultures such as filial piety, women's virtues and maintaining good health in front of an audience of 250.

The forum aims to promote traditional Chinese virtues and to strengthen the characters of people in modern day society and their social responsibilities, said the organizers.
