Pingtan leads Fujian in GDP growth

Pingtan’s gross domestic product (GDP) climbed up to 8.7 billion yuan ($1.4 billion) throughout first seven months this year, an increase of 11.9 percent year on year, reported ptnet.cn.
The growth beats Fujian province’s GDP rate by 3.2 percentage points, and last year’s rate during the same period by 5.9 percentage points, according to the provincial statistics bureau.
Major economic indexes all rebounded owning to preferential policies. Primary industry surged 5.4 percent to 1.6 billion yuan, secondary industry grew 12.9 percent to 2.7 billion yuan and tertiary industry rose 13.7 percent to 4.3 billion yuan.
Notably, GDP growth rates of Pingtan’s three industries all ranked first in Fujian province
The construction industry contributed 22.7 percent of GDP growth in Pingtan, indicating that it has become an integral part of its economic development.
