Pingtan tourism authority unveiled its new tourism logo on May 4, aiming to better promote the zone's characteristic tourism resources, reported Pingtan Times.

The new logo features the abstract image of an eye, symbolizing that visitors can see the unique charm of Pingtan island and gain a better understanding of Pingtan through it.

The eye consists of three parts – a curve, symbolizing waves, a yellow line portraying the coast and sunshine, and images of Shipaiyang (a sea-erosion landform) and stone folk dwellings (traditional residential architecture), which are must-see scenic spots for tourists.

The logo also contains the slogan "Pingtan Blue, International Tourist Destination", which highlights the area's goal of going global.

The logo is also designed with Chinese and English versions, allowing Pingtan to get its message across to a wider audience.
