Hechi plans to adhere to a new development pattern, carry out the "One City and Three Places" development strategy, and develop into an important node city for the New Western Land-Sea Corridor, according to a recent document released by the CPC Hechi Municipal Committee.
The municipal document, which focuses on the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021-25) for National Economic and Social Development and Long-Range Objectives for 2035, also lays out Hechi's future plans to become involved in the development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and open up wider to the outside world.
The "One City and Three Places" development strategy refers to Hechi's strategy to develop an "Ecological Longevity City and Liu Sanjie Cultural City" and an innovation base to practice the theory of "lucid waters and lush mountains are invaluable assets", as well as set up a demonstration base for integrating poverty alleviation achievements with rural vitalization and accelerating the development of international livable and healthy tourist resorts.
The "One City and?Three Places" strategic layout lays a solid foundation for enhancing the transformation and upgrading of the cultural and tourism industries and achieving high-quality development.
Hechi has been pressing ahead with the restructuring and high-quality development of its culture and tourism industries with a focus on the construction of international and livable healthcare tourist resorts such as the Bama Longevity Health International Tourism Zone, Liu Sanjie Ethnic Custom Tourist Area, Baili Longjiang Ethnic Cultural Eco-tourism Belt, and Hongshui River Waterfront Tourism and Leisure Health Belt.
Tourism companies in Hechi are offering online and smart services and promoting the transformation of "internet plus tourism". In addition, much has been accomplished through the development of modern service industries such as healthcare, modern logistics, and e-commerce.
As China's first prefecture-level city to be dubbed a World Longevity City, Hechi enjoys a strong reputation for being home to a number of world natural heritage sites and geological parks. It will take full advantage of its strengths and strive to develop ecological industries, expand its brand influence, and promote the sustainable and healthy development of its economy and society.
Hechi is one of the main battlefields for poverty alleviation in China and has seen 765,200 poverty-stricken people, 817 impoverished villages, and 10 impoverished counties?or districts lifted out of poverty over the past several years.
In the years to come, Hechi plans to overcome its geographical marginalization after the completion of the Guiyang-Nanning High-speed Railway and the Tian'e-Beihai Expressway. These projects will get Hechi involved in the Belt and Road Initiative, speed up the construction of the New Western Land-Sea Corridor, integrate the city into the new "dual circulation" economic development paradigm, and help it open up more to the outside world.
