Huanjiang sees Q1 rise in fiscal revenue

The fiscal revenue of Huanjiang Maonan autonomous county in Hechi reached 136 million yuan ($21 million) in the first quarter of 2021, with a year-on-year increase of 63.15 percent.

Over the past three months, domestic value-added tax revenue increased by 21.87 million yuan, an increase of 46.34 percent. The county has also enjoyed a 13.65 million yuan rise in tax revenue from its non-ferrous metals industry, thanks to an increase in prices.

Meanwhile, the county's construction service industry has prepaid 1.8 million yuan in tax, and the booming real estate industry has paid an extra 6.28 million yuan in value-added tax compared to the same period last year.

In addition, revenue from personal income tax increased by 1.89 million yuan year-on-year, a rise of 36.37 percent. Also, income from educational and administrative institutions rose by 9.13 million yuan year-on-year, up 100 percent.

According to the statistics, the tax income of key enterprises in the county reached 107 million yuan in the first quarter, representing an increase of 39.7 percent.

The improved fiscal situation has allowed additional government spending, with general public budget expenditure hitting 600 million yuan. The county plans to concentrate financial resources on key areas this year in order to promote high-quality economic and social development.

Hechi is located in the northwestern part of Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region and the southern foothills of the Yungui Plateau.
