The city of Hechi has provided agricultural machinery subsidies worth 17.97 million yuan ($2.79 million) this year, continuing its policy of modernizing agriculture and reducing the demand for manpower.

In addition, 8,195 technical personnel were organized to promote the local government's subsidies policy and teach farm workers how to operate new agricultural machinery.

During the spring ploughing period, Hechi provided 143,700 sets of agricultural machinery and tools, held 12 agricultural meetings, and trained 6,449 agricultural machinery operators and maintenance personnel.

Mechanization has played an important role in the modernization of the city's agricultural sector, with 190,200 hectares of land now cultivated by machines.
