The Guiyang education department launched the "200 Project" to support rural education on Wednesday.
The "200 Project" will send 100 retired teachers to rural schools to provide support and 100 rural school teachers to urban schools for professional development.
The retired teachers will spend five months volunteering, including teaching, training and demonstration, at rural schools in Xiuwen county, Xifeng county, Kaiyang county and Qingzhen city.
The 100 young teachers from villages and towns will spend three months doing experiential learning practice in eight professional teacher development training bases in Guiyang city.
