An activity for exchanges on innovation in educational kicked off in Nanming district in the city of Guiyang, capital of southwestern Guizhou province on Dec 2, according to local officials.
They said it was sponsored by the Nanming bureau of education and the Nanming district center for teachers' learning and resources.
The event mainly aimed to guide the teachers in the district to improve their professional standards, basic skills and knowledge levels.
The other aim was to help support the development of education in Nanming and develop innovative teaching methods and ideas.
More than 200 principals and teachers from primary and secondary schools in Nanming district, Luodian county, Puan county and Liuzhi special zone participated in the exchange activities which will last until Dec 6.
During the event, special lectures will be held, and side activities -- including teaching and research activities and demonstration courses on moral education, politics, mathematics, physics, chemistry, Chinese and other disciplines -- will be held.
At the same time, leading authorities in the field and academics inside and outside the province will conduct in-depth exchanges with teaching managers and teachers.
They will explore the themes of improving school management ability, improving classroom teaching quality and building a high-quality teaching team.
