The 12th China Inner Mongolia Grasslands Culture Festival opened in Inner Mongolia’s capital, Hohhot, on June 25 with the focus on the Silk Road as well as the grasslands.

The eight-day festival will include 13 kinds of culture activities, such as forums, films, exhibitions and eight plays, selected from 33 applicants by the organizing committee. There is also an art troupe from Buryatia, Russia taking part with special shows during the festival.

Wu Lan, the head of Inner Mongolia’s Publicity Dept was on hand at the opening ceremony and explained that one of the culture festival’s goals is to study the connotations of grasslands culture and promote cultural innovation.
