Wuxi National Hi-tech District (WND) has been recognized for the high levels of quality and safety achieved in its manufacturing industry, as the zone became just the second place in China to receive the title of "Quality and Safety Demonstration Zone of Advanced Manufacturing Industry".

The prestigious honor is testament to the hard work the district in Wuxi city, Jiangsu province has invested in promoting quality and innovation.

Key to WND's achievements was the introduction of its Quality Promotion Alliance in 2015, the first regional alliance of its kind in China that acts as a platform for local government, enterprises and industry associations to share data, technology, and jointly solve problems.

The focus on quality has helped Wuxi continue to increase trade amid the darkening global economic climate in 2016. The city's total trade volume reached $34.1 billion in 2016, a 4 percent increase on the previous year, with exports making up $18.2 billion of that amount.
