The city of Zhangjiagang in Jiangsu province launched a movable cultural relic exposition on May 18, the 40th International Museum Day, where more than 200 precious treasures were put on display highlighting the city's artifacts.

At the end of 2014, the city, following the national policy, completed its movable cultural relic census with a total of 19,688 found.

During the census, more than 5,000 ancient books were collected including some highly valuable books. "Hanshupinglin", a block-printed book from the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) with 40 volumes, is the most valuable set displayed. The original edition has been preserved well over the years.

Other collections including jade porcelain, inscription steles, paintings and calligraphy works also caught visitors' attention.

The city will strive to make good use of its cultural relics in the future, better contributing to local cultural prosperity, said a government official who attended the expo.
