Villages to take on new looks in Zhangjiagang

The eastern city of Zhangjiagang in Jiangsu province is planning to invest four million yuan ($58.8 million) to spruce up the various villages clustered around the metropolitan area.
The three-year project, spanning from 2017 to 2019, will cover a total of 48 villages, with 11 of them to take on a bright new look this year, 12 villages to complete reconstruction next year, and the other 25 to finish modifications in 2019.
Among which, Baijiaqiao and Lixiang, two villages leading the reconstruction efforts, have put forward their plans.

Baijiaqiao Village
Located at the western corner of Zhangjiagang, Baijiaqiao Village is planning to fully bring out its rural culture and create a better living environment for local residents.
The village will be divided into eight parts, including an activity center, a recreational park, a tourist service center, a peach picking park, and ecological waterways.
