"China has issued and implanted several laws, strategies and regulations to make overall arrangements, fight cybercrime and preserve the country’s information security."

Chen also made several proposals for improving cyber-security protections at the meeting.

"First is to raise people's cyber security awareness, increase their protection skills and create a safe online environment. Second is to strengthen innovation and constantly break through the pivotal technologies of cyber security. Third is to enhance coordination and inter-departmental cooperation. Finally we should advance international cooperation to jointly cope with the cyber security issue."

The three-day event included five sub-forums to demonstrate the latest research results of cyber security, discuss protection work, review technological innovation, encourage international cooperation and conduct related training courses.
