A set of Confucius series prizes and a standard statue of Confucius as well as Confucius series statues will be unveiled during the 13th Five-Year Plan (2016-20) to promote the rejuvenation of Confucianism and cultural prosperity, according to an announcement recently released by the China Confucius Foundation.

Wang Daqian, president of China Confucius Foundation, said at a symposium to mark the 30th anniversary of the initial issue of Confucius Studies that a program will be implemented with priority during the 13th Five-Year Plan. It requires establishing an academic committee, carrying out one digital project, setting up a batch of Confucius schools, fostering an international communication platform of Confucian culture as well as publishing a series of high-level Confucian publications.

At the symposium, more than 200 people including experts of Confucianism from over 20 provinces and regions as well as representatives of national academic journals also had an in-depth discussion on the development of Confucianism .
