China's cultural heritage comes alive in Shandong

The Fourth China Intangible Cultural Heritage Expo is taking place from Sept 21 to 25, in Jinan, capital of East China's Shandong province, according to cnews.chinadaily.com.cn.

Held at the Jinan International Conference Center, the event is aimed at translating cultural heritage into a modern context, so that people of today can continue to enjoy items and traditions from the past.

Reenactments of old crafts, which are being displayed in a special venue,?including lacquer coating and bamboo carving, will likely be a highlight of the event.

An experience area has also been set up for visitors this year.
