The launch ceremony was held on July 21 at the Shandong Provincial Cultural Center, with more than 200 guests from the province's culture sector and the media in attendance.

The website is designed to build brands and enhance copyright protection for the province's traditional arts, as well as create a comprehensive platform to display, sell and promote artifacts embodying the province's intangible cultural heritage.

The center designed the website after conducting an on-the-ground investigation of more than 60 regions and visiting more than 230 local master craftspeople to gain an in-depth knowledge of Shandong's diverse folk culture.

Nearly 300 local master craftspeople have joined the website, which has released 397 in-depth reports on intangible cultural items and offers online access to buy related cultural products.

A number of local craftspeople showcased their expert skills at the launch ceremony.
