The inaugural world youth tai chi summit was recently held in Tai'an, Shandong province, attracting more than 1,000 world champions, masters' descendants, experts and other tai chi enthusiasts.

The three-day event featured seminars, coaching forums and demonstrations aimed at promoting the traditional Chinese martial art.

These were a series of activities leading up to the second Sanya-Nanshan World Tai Chi Culture Festival, which will take place in Sanya, Hainan Island, from Sept 22 to 26.

Held at the Taishan underground rift valley scenic area and the Mount Tai scenic area, the event was jointly organized by the World Taijiquan Website, the Organizing Committee of the Sanya-Nanshan World Tai Chi Culture Festival and the Tai'an Taijiquan Development Association.
