The National Intangible Cultural Heritage Quyi Week came to an end on Sept 10 in Jinan, capital city of Shandong province.

Quyi is a traditional Chinese art form spanning a variety of categories, such as ballad singing, storytelling, comic dialogue, and Chinese crosstalk.

A total of 131 quyi programs from the country's 29 cities and regions were displayed during the five-day event, involving 492 folk artists from all over the country.

According to the organizing committee, 128 performances were staged across Jinan's theaters, residential areas, schools, and scenic areas to engage more participants, entertain more people, and promote the charm of the traditional folk art of quyi.

The event was jointly organized by the intangible cultural heritage department and the art department under the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the Shandong provincial department of culture and tourism, as well as the Jinan municipal government.
